ESSAIR’s Inaugural Annual Conference took place on Zoom on July 9 and 10 2020, after being originally hosted by the École Militaire, Paris. It showcased innovative original research on South Asia from established academics, emerging scholars and postgraduate students.
ESSAIR 2020 consisted of a Keynote Speech by Professor Amrita Narlikar, followed by 12 papers across 4 Panels concerning:
- Indian Foreign Policy: Conceptual Insights
- Global South Asia: Inter-Regional Interactions
- Investigating Regional Connectivity
- Reconsidering South Asia’s IR Through History
ESSAIR 2020 was the world’s first online conference specialising in International Relations, with an audience participating from across Europe, India and the United States.
